E UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI KRIM EKTRAK DAUN PUCUK MERAH (Syzygium oleana) TERHADAP BAKTERI Staphylococcus aureus SECARA IN VITRO

Tanaman Pucuk Merah (Syzygium oleana) mengandung zat aktif flavonoid yang dapat digunakan sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas krim ekstrak daun pucuk merah (Syzygium oleana) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus serta mengetahui konsentrasi krim ekstrak daun pucuk merah (syzygium oleana) yang paling besar aktivitas sebagai antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus.

Formulasi krim ekstrak daun pucuk merah (Syzygium oleana) yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Konsentrasi 0,5 %, konsentrasi 1%, dan konsentrasi 2%. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan metode difusi sumuran untuk uji aktivitas antibakteri krim ekstrak daun pucuk merah (Syzygium oleana). Pengamatan dilakukan dengan mengukur zona bening disekitar sumuran dengan menggunakan penggaris.

Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa krim ekstrak daun pucuk merah (syzygium oleana) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dengan Konsentrasi 0,5 % zona bening yang dihasilkan 0,49 cm, konsentrasi 1% zona bening yang dihasilkan 0,82 cm, konsentrasi 2% zona bening yang dihasilkan 1,05 cm.

Krim ekstrak daun pucuk merah (Syzygium oleana) dengan konsentrasi 2% yang paling besar aktivitas sebagai antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus yaitu sebesar 1,05 cm.

ABSTRACT

Red Shoot (Syzygium oleana) contains an active flavonoid content that can be used as an antibacterial. This study aimed to know the activity of red shoot (Syzygium oleana) leaves extract cream toward Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and to know the biggest concentration of red shoot (Syzygium oleana) leaves extract cream as an antibacterial toward Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

The formulations of red shoot (Syzygium oleana) leaves extract cream used in this study were consentration of 0.5%, 1% and 2%. The method used in this study was the experimental method with a well diffusion method to test the antibacterial activity of red shoot(Syzygium oleana leaves extract cream. The observation was done by measuring the clear zone around the well with a ruler.

The results of the study showed that red shoot(Syzygium oleana) leaves extract creamhad an antibacterial activity toward Staphylococcus aureus bacteria with 0.5% concentration, the clear zone resulted was 0.49 cm; with 1% concentration, the clear zone resulted was 0.82cm; and with 2% concentration, the clear zone resulted was 1.05cm.

The cream of red shoot(Syzygium oleana) leaves extract with 2% concentration had the biggest activity as an antibacterial toward Staphylococcus aureus namely amounted to 1.05cm.
